Unhappy necro SV vs smites

i noticed since i think friday that even after i casted 5x SV (5x16 secs) the smites still smite hex off the SS.
very odd cause before that 2 casts were enough to drain their mana.
almost looks like they upgraded them with 500% more mana.
i didnt see anything in the game update notes about it.
anyone have a similar issue?

Are you sure that the monk you cast it on didn't use Bonetti's?

either they are soooo very few (i find 3 and less takes ages), or your monk uses bonetti too often (more probable..)

PS just tell you monk not to use bonettis if there are less than 5 smites on screen.. should be foolproof enough. i think you can get away not using bonetti till 9-10 smites, but it gets tricky timing ur skills to heal urself

I havent noticed any changes. It probably is the bonettis thing mentioned above

With some monks, ones that use bonettis excessively even when tanking smaller groups, it may be necessary to echo SV rather than SS giving you more time to let the smites drain before you hex them. They will have dropped before the 2nd SV runs out anyway, and it doesnt really take very long now with a single SS due to Reckless Haste. At least you wont have the frustration of having to wait for regen/recharge only so that the monk can stop the smites draining again...

its not the bonetti's

tested it with me as 55 mo/me with no bonetti's
and the necro in this matter had to cast SV 5 times and even then the smites were not drained.
maybe i should ask Arena for an answer

You have to make sure your not letting them regen energy inbetween the casts.

Im sure your fellow monk aggroes too few smites. With >4 one SV is more than enough - cast it, wait 5 secs, cast echo, cast SS and second SS then IMMEDIATELY cast Suffering as a cover hex. Works like a charm Cheers!
